# Getting Started

> Open Tux and ask your first question.

Tux is available to **organization admins** where it is enabled. Contact [Apten support](mailto:founders@apten.ai) if you need access.

## Ask your first question

**1. Open Tux**

Click the **penguin tab** on the right edge of your dashboard, or press **⌘ + .** on Mac or **Ctrl + .** on Windows.

**2. Send a message**

Type your question or select a suggested prompt, then press **Enter** to send. Use **Shift + Enter** for a new line.

Try: **“What customer profiles do we have, and what does each one do?”**

**3. Follow up**

Continue in the same session: **“Which of those profiles has phone calls enabled?”**

Include a lead, profile name, or time period when relevant. On [Metrics](https://docs.apten.ai/tux/analyzing-performance.md), ask about **“my current dates and filters”** to use your current view.

## Sessions and controls

* **New session** (plus): start a separate conversation.
* **Tux sessions** (back arrow): return to a previous session.
* **Stop**: stop the current response.
* **Close Tux** (X): close the panel and return later.

Drag the panel divider to resize it. To remove a session, use the trash icon in the session list.

## Troubleshooting

> **A response failed**
>
> Use **Retry** when available. If a message could not be sent, retry or discard it before sending another.

> **The answer differs from the dashboard**
>
> Check the dates, filters, and whether Tux used current data or a saved export.
