Webchat (Beta)

  • Webchat Widget Launch: Apten now ships an embeddable web chat widget so the same AI agent that handles SMS, email, and voice can engage visitors directly on your website. Includes session persistence, contact form capture, and full conversation history in the dashboard.
  • Webchat → Voice / SMS Transfers: Webchat sessions can hand off to a voice call or text-message conversation when the lead opts in.
  • Webchat Guardrails & Rate Limiting: Per-organization rate limiting and full guardrail support so the same safety rules used in SMS/voice apply to webchat.
  • Webchat Metrics: Webchat conversations, transfers, and calls now appear in the metrics dashboard with source filters.
  • Session UI: New screens for browsing, filtering, and tagging webchat sessions, with deep links from rooms to the originating session.

New Features

  • RCS (Rich Communication Services) Support: Send-and-receive support for RCS messages on supported carriers, with status indicators in the conversation UI and an RCS filter in the conversation list.
  • Phone Number per Profile Routing: Assign a specific phone number to a customer profile so outbound and inbound calls can be routed to the right brand or product line.
  • Tag Management APIs: New public API endpoints to add, remove, and replace tags on a lead programmatically.
  • AND/OR Tag Filtering: The conversation list and exports now support nested AND/OR logic when filtering by multiple tags.
  • Per-Step Voicemail Toggle: Enable or disable voicemail drop on a per-step basis within a phone follow-up sequence.
  • Configurable Long-Term Follow-Up: The long-term follow-up cadence can now be configured per organization instead of using the platform default.
  • Email on Lead Exports & Conversation Header: Lead email is included in CSV exports and shown in the conversation header for quick reference.

Improvements

Voice Bot Enhancements

  • Smarter Voice Model: Voice and chat agents now run on a newer underlying language model with lower latency and improved reasoning.
  • Voicemail-Aware Mid-Call Transfers: When a transferred call hits a voicemail or answering machine, Apten now detects it and falls back gracefully instead of leaving a partial transfer.
  • Faster Turn-Taking on Calls: Tuned speech-to-text timing for snappier back-and-forth on voice calls.
  • Multilingual Voice Bots: New speech-recognition pipeline with improved support for multilingual voice agents.

Metrics & Reporting

  • Time Filters on Metrics: Filter every metric on the dashboard by custom time ranges.
  • Leads Imported Over Time: New chart showing lead import volume over time.
  • Unsubscribe & Qualified Metric Fixes: Corrected unsubscribe-rate and qualified-lead calculations and added clarifying tooltips.

UI/UX Improvements

  • Form Validation Before Deploy / Test: The customer profile builder validates required fields before allowing Deploy or Test actions.
  • Rich-Text Editor Resize Fix: Resolved a regression that broke the rich-text editor’s resize behavior in the profile builder.
  • Conditional Transfer Number Validation: Transfer number is no longer required when both voice and SMS transfer are disabled.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed inbound call routing for certain carrier configurations.
  • Fixed custom-tool parameter parsing for tools defined on the starting node of a profile.
  • Fixed idle-timeout handling on long voice calls.
  • Fixed voicemail completion ending a call prematurely when voicemail is disabled.
