New Features
- Profile Variants: A/B test up to three variants of a customer profile by splitting new leads from CSV imports, the Create Lead API, and Automations by weight, then filter conversations and metrics by variant and compare results in Optimize → Compare Profiles → Variants. See Profile variants.
- Calendar Invitations: Once a lead confirms an appointment, Apten can email them a calendar invitation they can accept or decline in their email client, with the date and time spelled out in their time zone. Set the event title, duration, and description per profile. See Calendar Invitations.
- Profile-Specific Outreach Hours: Give a customer profile its own outreach hours and holidays when it needs a different schedule from the rest of your organization, under Settings → Compliance → Message Timing. See Profile-Specific Outreach.
- Stay on the Line During Warm Transfers: Turn on Stay on the line while dialing to keep the AI talking with the lead while the agent is reached and briefed, instead of playing hold music. If no agent picks up, the AI lets the lead know and keeps the conversation going. See Warm Transfer.
- Redesigned Common Objections: Filter objections by date range, then open any group to see how often it came up by profile, how your AI responded, the approaches it uses to handle the concern, and real conversation examples. See Common Objections.
- SMS Delivery Status: Texts that fail to deliver are now marked Not delivered in the conversation, with the reason. Leads whose numbers can’t receive texts are flagged in the dashboard, and automated texts to them stop.
Improvements
- Temporary external compliance blocks: Return
blockType: "temporary"to block only the current send and let the lead’s follow-up sequence continue on its normal cadence, including when a voice call is blocked immediately before dialing. Fail-closed provider errors are temporary; missingblockTypekeeps the existing permanent-block behavior. See External Compliance Checks. - Keep a lead’s schedule when switching profiles: Use
followUps: "continue"with Switch Customer Profile or the Switch Profile automation action to preserve callbacks, reminders, manual messages, and follow-ups scheduled for a date. - One-way linked opt-outs: Linked Opt-Out Channels now sets each direction separately, so an opt-out on one channel can carry over to another without the reverse also applying. See Unsubscribe Settings.
- Opt-out forwarding number: Set a Voice opt-out / turned-off forwarding number in a profile’s Voice section to send inbound calls from opted-out or turned-off leads to your team.
- Holidays for live transfers: Transfers requested during a voice call now follow the profile’s Holiday schedule, the same as transfers requested by text. See Business Hours and Holidays.
- Channel preferences vs. opt-outs: When a lead says something like “I can’t text, please call me,” Apten now treats it as a preference to switch channels instead of an SMS opt-out.
- Landline leads get a call first: When a new lead’s number is a landline, Apten starts with a call instead of a text that can’t be delivered.
- Fewer replies to automated messages: Apten now recognizes and skips replying to auto-responders, out-of-office messages, and carrier notices.
- Message IDs everywhere: Inbound messages now include an ID in API responses and
message.receivedwebhooks, matching outbound messages. - Duplicate lead response: When Create Lead rejects a duplicate phone number, the response now includes the existing lead’s
id. - Existing lead IDs in import error files: When a CSV import row is rejected because the phone number already belongs to a lead, the error file now includes that lead’s ID in a new
leadIdcolumn. - Automations — State and ZIP code: The Create Lead action can now set a lead’s state and ZIP code.
- Automation name on timeline cards: Changes made by an automation now show which automation made them.
- Conversation list: Refresh the list without losing your filters, and filter conversations by when the lead was created.
- Failed exports: Exports that can’t complete now show Failed with the reason instead of staying pending.
- Change your Dynamics 365 account: Switch the Microsoft account behind your Dynamics 365 connection without disconnecting. See Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed follow-ups stopping when the text sent after an unanswered call was blocked by a compliance check.
- Fixed a profile that a lead was just switched into not seeing the message that triggered the switch, which could cause the AI to repeat a question.
- Fixed external compliance checks for emails and calls not including the lead’s custom fields.
- Fixed calls that reached an automated phone menu sometimes staying connected for a long time; they now end after a few minutes.
